A veritable jewel case filled with masterpieces is what we see crossing the massive sixteenth-century walls of this rich city.
Visiting Lucca means walking into a place where time stands still.
During our tour we meet tower houses, churches with decorations that we could compare to laces..
You walk up meeting places as the “Piazza San Michele” with its homonymous romanesque church, we reach the Cathedral of San Martino (here houses the sarcophagus of Ilaria del Carretto carved by the senese sculptor Jacopo della Quercia). A walk along the Via Fillungo (commercial axis where you can still find craft shops) allows us to reach the Amphitheatre square. After visiting the church of San Frediano we finally enjoy a walk on the tree-lined walls.
The same day we have the opportunity to visit Pisa.
