It was in the 16 century that, thanks to the military and commercial strategies of the Medici, Livorno became one of the main ports of the Mediterranean sea.

It’s a town by the sea, a town with strong tastes (the typical dish of fish “Cacciucco” is the best example). Visiting Livorno leaves on your skin and in your soul the scent of salt .

Do not forget that in Leghorn were born important panters and musicians as Giovanni Fattori,  Amedeo Modigliani, Pietro Mascagni. Interesting is to visit the  “Giovanni Fattori” museum where you can admire works of Tuscan painters of the 19th and 20th centuries (Macchiaioli and post Macchiaioli).
